 Introduction:

Thank you for purchasing the 3D Headset with Headphones! Your new VR Viewer is the first step into countless new worlds, all from the comfort of your home.

Important Safety Information:

  1. Always be aware of surroundings when using the Headset and if possible remain seated at all times.
  2. Take special care to ensure that you are not near other people, objects, stairs, balconies, windows, furniture, or other items that you can bump into or knock down when using, or immediately after using, the Headset.
  3. Do not handle sharp or otherwise dangerous objects while using the Headset. Never wear the Headset in situations that require attention, such as walking, bicycling or driving.
  4. Do not stand up or move around while the Headset is in use, as this may cause collisions, injury to the user and/or damage the device.
  5. Do not wear glasses when using the Headset. Doing so may cause facial injuries. If you need corrective lenses, it is recommended that you wear contact lenses when using the Headset.
  6. This product should not be used by children under the age of 13, as this is a critical period in visual development. Adults should monitor children (aged 13 and older) who are using or have used the Headset for any of the symptoms and/or decrease in abilities described below, and should limit the time children spend using it as well as ensure they take breaks during use.
  7. Immediately discontinue the use of the Headset if you experience any of the following symptoms: seizures, loss of awareness, eye strain, eye or muscle twitching, involuntary movements; altered, blurred or double vision or other visual abnormalities, dizziness, disorientation, impaired balance, impaired hand-eye coordination, excessive sweating, increased salivation, nausea, light-headedness, discomfort or pain in the head or eyes, drowsiness, fatigue, or any symptoms similar to motion sickness.
  8. Many companies have been conducting clinical trials to ensure VR devices do not cause serious health problems. About 1 in 4,000 users may experience mild-to-severe dizziness, seizures, epileptic seizures or blackouts triggered by light flashes or patterns, which can also occur while watching TV or playing video games. Such seizures can occur even to those with no prior seizure history and are more common in children and young people under the age of 20. Anyone who has had a seizure, loss of awareness or other symptom linked to an epileptic condition should see a doctor before using the Headset.

Usage Requirements:

Suitable for Apple or Android smartphones. Requires iOS 5.1.1 or greater (for Apple smartphones, released in 2012) or Android 2.2 or greater (for Android smartphones, released in 2010). Smartphones that do not use iOS or Android operating systems are incompatible with the Headset. Fits phones 9-15cm diagonally.

Parts:

  1. Pupil Distance Dial
  2. Open Casing Button
  3. Casing
  4. Headband
  5. Focus Knob

Installation and Use:

  1. On your smartphone, from the App Store (Apple) or the Play Store (Android), download the application ‘Sites in 3D’. After it has finished downloading, open the app.
  2. After opening the app, locate and open the Viewer menu (marked by a picture of glasses). In the Viewer menu, select ‘Google Cardboard’. This should split the screen into two halves, one for each eye. You may now load the phone into the Headset.

NOTE: Some smartphones will automatically turn their screens off after a certain period of time. We recommend disabling this feature to avoid the screen switching off mid-use while in the Headset.

  1. To set the phone inside the Headset, open the cover and ensure that the spring-loaded brackets are pushed back so the phone can lie evenly inside with the screen facing the Headset’s lenses. Be sure to place the phone behind the metal bracket so it will not side forward while in use. Close the cover.
  2. After the phone has been secured in the Headset with the app open in the correct viewing settings, place the Headset on your head. Extend or shorten the Headset’s arms so that the headphones are covering both ears. Tighten or loosen the straps to fit the Headset securely to your head. At this point you should see the app through both lenses.
  3. Use the Focal Length knobs to adjust the picture in each lens so that it is clear. Use the Pupil Distance dial to create a single image when viewed simultaneously.
  4. Move your head to look in 360°. Use the cursor at the centre of your vision to navigate throughout the Menus and VR Sites using Focus Points.
  5. Focus Points are activated by holding the cursor over them. While this is processing, a white circle will grow around the cursor. When the circle is complete, the Focus Point will activate.

Troubleshooting:

For issues downloading or running the app, please confirm your phone is capable of downloading or running the app (see Usage Requirements above) and that you have sufficient hard drive space. If this does not resolve the problem you can contact the app designer at 3dmekanlar@gmail.com

Troubleshooting (continued)

Problem

Reason

Solution

I can’t see properly.

One image is higher than the other.

Your phone may not be properly fixed in the Headset. Take off the Headset and re-set the phone in the cradle as described above.

I can only see half an image.

Make sure your phone is set to display two images as described above in the Viewer menu.

The image is blurry.

Use the focus knobs to align the images clearly.

I can see two images.

Use the pupil distance dial to unite the images.

The screen went blank.

Take off the Headset and re-open the phone. Disable the auto-off screen function. If your battery has run out, charge your phone before using the Headset.

I can’t change scenes.

The cursor won’t select/The Focus Point won’t activate.

Hold your gaze on the Focus Point until the circle around the cursor is completed. Moving away from the Focus Point will restart the process.

I can’t find my cursor.

The cursor is in the centre of your field of vision, a small blue point that appears near Focus Points.

I can’t find any Focus Points.

To activate the Focus Point, you must place it directly in the centre of your view. Move the Headset until the cursor and Focus Point appears.

There is no Focus Point for where I want to go.

Unfortunately, like a real tour only some locations and aspects are available in Virtual Reality.

I want to tour a different site.

The site I want to tour isn’t on the menu.

The tour may be available in a different menu; returning to the main menu and select a different category.

Check the designer’s website (//www.3dmekanlar.com/sites.html) for a list of all virtual tours including the latest additions.

I can’t go back to the menu.

Look directly down to find the ‘Return to Menu’ Focus Point, marked by an arrow escaping a box.

Care and Cleaning:

  1. To clean, wipe the exterior of the Headset with a non-abrasive damp cloth. Use a mild soap if needed. Dry with a soft cloth.
  2. DO NOT use alcohol, gasoline, abrasive cleaners, furniture polish or rough brushes to clean the Headset. This may cause damage to the Headset and its casing.
  3. DO NOT immerse the Headset in liquid. DO NOT let water enter the Headset.
  4. Wait until the Headset is completely dry before use.
  5. To clean the lenses, carefully polish with a slightly damp glasses-cleaning or microfiber cloth.
